PERSONAL HISTORY:

Peggy has been an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 30 years.

Peggy’s eligibility for membership is through her late husband, John, who served in the US Army during the Korean War. She is alsoeligible through five brothers: three served during the Korean War and two served during WWII.

Peggy has one married daughter, Lisa, who is a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner and a member of the Auxiliary.

Currently Peggy serves as VAVS Deputy at the Hunter Holmes McGuire VAMC and has 800+ volunteer hours. She served three years on the VAVS Executive Committee—the last two years as Chairman.

Retired Vice-President of a petroleum distributorship with threedivisions, Peggy served as: Operations Manager and CorporateSecretary; handled all company owned stocks; and worked closely with company attorneys on legal issues pertaining to the operation of the company. Twice, she served as interim General Manager. Peggy assisted in the buying and selling of company owned stores andfueling stations, and was responsible for buying and selling all service trucks and tractor-trailers as well as the product to be delivered.

Peggy is an active member of Lutheran Church of Our Savior.

Peggy is Vice-President of M. Stanley Ryan Unit of Parliamentarians and is a member of the National Association of Parliamentarians.

Peggy is a member of Bellwood Defense Supply Women’s Club where she serves on the Executive Committee and is liaison to the VA Hospital.

Peggy is Virginia’s coordinator for Ride2Recovery.
